PEAM YOUTH EXCEL DURING EARLY 2007 SHOWS
PEAM youth member, Libby Tudor, and associate youth member,
Jordan Miller from Oklahoma, exhibited their Palominos at the
Ft. Worth Stock show in January 2007. Libby and her gelding,
No Doubt A Zippo, won Reserve High Point 14-18 and she
was awarded the $1000 Marguerite Coburn Memorial Scholarship
that was donated by Ms. Coburn's family in her memory. Libby
also submitted an essay that won her an additional $1000 scholarship
made possible by Ft. Worth residents, Madelon L. Bradshaw, Carter
& Eddie Martin, and Mary & Stuart Morrow.
Jordan, exhibiting Zips Gold Copykat, was the 13 &
Under High Point winner, and received a high point belt buckle.
The pair also received the Boyd Wilshire Memorial Trophy for
the High Point Overall Youth 18 & Under, during the Southwest
Exposition & Livestock Show in Ft. Worth.
Jordan and "Zippy" continued on the road to the
Dixie Nationals in Jackson, Mississippi in February, and won
High Point 13 & Under, at the Palomino Horse show. At the
Houston Livestock Show in March, the pair won the High Point
13 & Under trophy saddle. They won numerous class champion
awards at all the shows where they competed.
Libby stayed home in Missouri during March and attended the
"March to the Arch" Quarter Horse show. She and "Romeo"
competed in All-Around events and won the High Point Novice Youth
Horsemanship award. This show was a benefit for the American
Cancer Society and had nearly 3900 entries from all over the
US and Canada. Early estimates indicate the show raised approximately
$40,000 for the society during its four day run.
Libby and Romeo have also qualified in Showmanship to exhibit
at the AQHA Youth World show that will be held in Fort Worth
during August 2007.
